RESEARCH FEES

Research services

I offer targeted archival searches at fixed prices, with more extensive research charged according to the time required. Every enquiry begins with a free assessment, and all paid work is discussed and agreed in advance.

Organised registers and lists

These include records arranged by name, year of birth or address, allowing relevant entries to be located relatively efficiently.

The $100 fixed fee covers a defined search of relevant records, normally requiring up to two hours of research. The scope will be agreed in advance.

Records requiring manual examination

Other collections, including records arranged chronologically or by subject, may require a more extensive page-by-page examination.

These searches are charged at $50 per hour, with an agreed maximum budget before work begins.

Targeted document searches

If you already know which document you need, I may be able to undertake a more focused search without a broader investigation.

Fees start at $50, depending on the information available and the work required to locate the document.

ARCHIVE REQUESTS

Formal archive requests

$65per request (USD)

Includes preparing and submitting a formal request to the State Archives of Rivne Oblast, handling routine correspondence, receiving the documents and forwarding them to you by standard tracked international postage.

The archive's own fees, including research, copying, certification and postage to me, are additional and passed on at cost without markup.

Unusually heavy shipments or expedited delivery will be quoted separately and agreed in advance.

SCOPE AND COST

How research is agreed

Every enquiry begins with a free review of the information and documents you already have.

I'll identify the most promising archival searches and explain the proposed scope and cost before any paid work begins.

More extensive research is considered only where the available evidence justifies it. Where a search is charged by the hour, we'll agree a maximum budget in advance, and I won't exceed it without your approval.

Archival research cannot guarantee a successful discovery. Fees cover the time spent researching, including searches that do not produce a matching record.
